ELDER PATRIOT – Two events took place this week on opposite sides of the world but no matter how great the separation between them might’ve been, they cannot be simultaneously believed.

On Monday, F.B.I. Director James Comey said he couldn’t (or, wouldn’t) answer questions about an eight-month old investigation into alleged collusion between the Russian government and Donald Trump and members of his campaign.

On Tuesday a North Korean missile exploded within three seconds of launch.  This was likely the result of our nation’s highly secret cyber warfare capabilities.

According to the NYT, “Three years ago, President Barack Obama ordered Pentagon officials to step up their cyber and electronic strikes against North Korea’s missile program in hopes of sabotaging test launches in their opening seconds.”

It’s simply inconceivable that in the same cyber world where we are the leader in defense technologies we can’t, after an exhaustive investigation by 16 intelligence agencies, determine whether Trump colluded with or was coerced by Vladimir Putin.

On an issue of such immense importance shouldn’t Comey have asked a court for access to the NSA’s massive database where every text, tweet, email, phone conversation, and perhaps even conversations captured by the numerous smart devices we all use, from which to gather evidence.

Of course he did.  If he didn’t he should be fired for gross negligence.

We are watching Kabuki Theater being played out during the House Intelligence Committee hearings and the only beneficiaries of this are the Democrats who are using their time before the American people to level every imaginable and unsubstantiated allegation against President Trump and every person who has supported him.

This was precisely the point that Trey Gowdy made directly to Director Comey after he grew disgusted listening to the Democrats provide their own narrative while Comey, for all intents, sat silent.

In laymen terms Gowdy told Comey to “cut the bullsh*t and bring the facts or shut up because you’re not helping things!”
