Texas Rep. says Lynch should be investigated for trying to cover Hillary investigation
It all started when Democratic senator Diane Feinstein demanded for an investigation into whether Obama’s attorney general Loretta Lynch did something to cover up Hillary Clinton, and the plan now seems to be coming to a fruition.
GOP Congressman Louis Gohmert went on Fox News on Sunday to say that if someone meddled in the U.S. presidential election of 2016 it isn’t the Russian government, but rather the Justice Department. Gohmert claims that the main people that could be responsible for something like that are former FBI director James Comey and former attorney general under Obama Loretta Lynch.
Gohmert discussed the recent testimony of James Comey before the House Intel Committee when the former FBI head said that Loretta Lynch had told him to refer to the FBI full investigation as a “matter,” not an investigation, even though Hillary was officially being investigated.
“At best, it was an attempt to manipulate the election, not by the Russians in this case, but by the Department of Justice – the Attorney General herself – because that came from Comey,” said the congressman.
“[Comey] totally ruined his own credibility – or what was left of it,” he added. “He did vast damage and raised big red flags and questions over Loretta Lynch’s job as head of the Justice Department.”
“[Lynch] was using her official position to help the campaign of Hillary Clinton and that didn’t seem to bother him enough to do a memo,” the Texas representative said.
